She is cute as a penguin and cold as Antarctic ice,

I’m afraid that the sun might just melt her real nice,

The heat and all the sweat, has her prone to fainting,

The sweat and all the warmth, could ruin my painting,

I’m glad she’s not just a picture but indeed a reality,

I’m really quite smitten by her loving sweet personality,

She’s like the smell of fresh raspberries and sweet peaches,

She’s probably even prettier than all those sandy beaches,

Though I haven’t met her yet, I tell you she’s a real delight,

My plan is to someday, get on that nonstop flight,

Because I can’t wait to see her and have her in my arms,

I’d make her swoon to the music and all my seductive charms,

I’d hold her real tight in my hulk like embrace,

She’d know exactly what’s to happen is a disgrace,

Letting passion take over and begin that slow rhythmic dance,

For the night is young and awaiting for us to take a chance,

For you in me and me in you are just reflections people would see,

Two lovers meeting, for a moment fleeting, we’ve waited an eternity!

This poem is dedicated to my dream girl, like the song from the movie Pardes “Meri Mehbooba”. (I’ve shared the video to that song below for those of you who haven’t heard or seen it.)

There are so many things, one likes to imagine about their fantasy lover. They may not be perfect, but they are perfect for us. As we mature, we begin to believe that it is an impossibility that they exist. But I refuse to believe that, because I think they do exist. We need search for them, sometimes in people we are yet to meet. The idea is to believe, in the possibilities and not the improbabilities! Is that really so hard to do?

“I want to be the best version of myself

for anyone who is going to someday walk into my life

and need someone to love them beyond reason.”

― Jennifer Elisabeth

Maybe it is hard. But is it not worth a fight, to struggle, and to keep our dreams and hopes alive? Love is hard to find or is it hard for love to find us? There are many questions that arise when one talks about love. Lot of confusion, lot of heartbreak and certainly lot of mistakes! But that shouldn’t be the end of our search for love; we must persevere and prepare ourselves. For when you do end up finding that dream lover, you don’t miss the opportunity or just plain reject the idea based on our skewed definitions of reality. That’s my opinion though; and I would surely like to hear your thoughts and feedback on the same.
