I read a poem by my fellow blogger friend Eva on her blog Game of Words. She has written a wonderful poem titled after her own blog. This poem below is my response and dedicated to her original poem Game of Words.(click to read)
If it’s just a game of words,
Then I must give it a try,
It’s like a challenge to me,
Gets me all mighty and high.
My pen is a sword,
And my poetry is a shield.
I never forget to bring my dreams along,
As I enter the battlefield.
There is no law in this game of words,
The only right is to choose,
The words you write in ink,
And you can’t dare to lose.
I am a master in this game of words,
Bravest among these selected few.
I will fight hard to get in,
And it will get ugly too.
The safety is off,
And my words will slay tonight.
It’s all just a game of words, baby,
And you wonder if I can put up a fight ?
The game is on,
And my sword is drawn to kill,
And on parchment ink shall be spilled,
It’s now just a battle of true skill.
– Advaita Inamdar
Like Eva many readers here may be Game of Thrones fans, so I would like to share a few quotes I was reminded of by George R.R. Martin by reading her poem and my own.
“A lord must learn that sometimes words can accomplish what swords cannot.”
― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
“Wind and words. We are only human, and the gods have fashioned us for love. That is our great glory, and our great tragedy.”
― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
I would rather spread love through my words than praise war and hatred. But alas, it is not my choice alone; but humanity as a whole that must embrace the idea of peace and love in our time. And I truly hope that it shall happen in my lifetime, that is all I would like to believe.
Spread the Love is my message to you all. – Your blogger friend, Advaita 🙂

Advaita, this is a beautifully written poem. I love the way you have used the art of writing as your armour, the comparison and the words you use are simply beautiful. After reading this I had to follow your blog.

I like such a game, where you lose yet you win. The battle of thoughts against words. I love the idea of ink spilled rather than blood. It’s powerful. And the idea, such a visual pleasure it is. 🙂

Advaita, have you ever heard the saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me.” Whoever wrote that had no idea what they were talking about. Our words can pierce even stronger than weapons of war.
Here’s to watching our words and being wise with them.
Have a great day Advaita.

True that! We must certainly watch our words, for they can leave wounds that even time can’t heal. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, you have a great day too Staci 👍☺💕
