Elysian Eyes

Her Elysian eyes are mesmerizing;

Eyes that once you look into, there is no going back,

Her eyes are deeper than the ocean;

Even those who can swim, would happily drown in them,

Her eyes are like a dream;

Even those who want to wake up, will prefer to sleep forever,

Her eyes are like deep space;

You would want to explore the infinite stars, which reside in them,

Her eyes possess the power;

To make you lose yourself once you look into them,

And there is no way of coming back to reality, without a little stardust in your heart.

– Advaita Inamdar

One of the most enchanting features of a woman is her eyes. And this poem is my humble effort to express through my poetry, the kind of effect a woman can have through her eyes alone.

Eyes are like windows to the soul and a woman’s eyes can be captivating, stellar, ethereal, empyreal, celestial even ! And I believe that a woman is capable of expressing so much through her eyes, if only most men could read and understand their language.

Elysian eyes 2

There is so much one can write about women, not just their eyes but also about the unique ability they possess to experience and express emotions in their purest form. But to keep this post short, I am going to end this post with a quote from the bard himself, because there are few who could write with such charm in the English language as he could.

“From women’s eyes this doctrine I derive:
They sparkle still the right Promethean fire;
They are the books, the arts, the academes,
That show, contain and nourish all the world.”

– William Shakespeare
